The Ḥadīth Ijāzah Program by Critical Loyalty is a comprehensive two-year online course designed to provide students with an immersive understanding of ḥadīth through theory, practice, and research. The program aims to foster both breadth and depth of knowledge in a convenient online format, utilizing the Zoom virtual classroom platform.
Course Structure:
**Foundations of Ḥadīth Theory:**
– Exploration of classical texts in Mustalah al-ḥadīth for a strong theoretical foundation
– Comprehensive understanding of ḥadīth theory to ensure a thorough grasp of subject matter
**Practical Aspect: Exploration of Bulūgh al-Maram:**
– In-depth study of Bulūgh al-Maram by Ibn Hajar al-‘Asqalanī
– Weekly 3-hour sessions for two years comprising lectures and discussions
– Application of muṣṭalaḥ concepts, elucidation of aḥādīth, and exploration of related topics
– Inclusivity with open sessions for both male and female students
– Continuous assessment of classroom ethics, including attendance, preparedness, participation, and contribution
– Mixed classes with first-year and second-year students
**Distinguished Instructors:**
– Shaykh Hassan Kattani: Guiding students through the Maqasid of the Sunnah and Hadith from Bulūgh al-Marām
– Ustadh Umar: Focus on analyzing major works of ḥadīth, covering six renowned books of Hadīth and methodologies
**Emphasis on Critical Thinking and Research:**
– Encouragement of in-depth exploration to develop critical and objective thinking
– Skill development in thorough research, open-mindedness, clear articulation of arguments, persuasive writing based on logical reasoning

**Registration and Program Aim:**
– Annual program registration opens and closes in June; however, we are switching it to September. So, therefore, registration is once again open.
– The ultimate aim: Graduation of students embodying a scholarly mindset
– Scholarly qualities encompass critical and objective thinking, research proficiency, open-mindedness, effective argumentation, persuasive writing based on logic, and cohesive presentation
– Demonstration of scholarly qualities required for the ijāzāh credential
